Mmmm, lazy Sundays! I have been reading, writing, tidying, showering, eating, shopping and rewatching Doctor Who season 1. My sister's been on holiday camping in Cornwall (SO JELLIS) all week so I've been on my own mostly, though Mum took me out for dinner one night (HEE I like how my social life revolves almost entirely around my family when I'm in this city. *is cool*); it's been half really nice to have time on my own and half a bit lonely!
We've also had another girl off work also on holiday this week, so it's kicked up into really quite busy all week, being a body down; I haven't minded too much, actually! It goes quicker when busy, and I can see myself getting better even now after a year, still, getting better at being more efficient and organised and motivated, none of which are things that come naturally to me so I have to make the effort. Though it has got a bit too much a couple of times, I've had a couple of 5pm stress headaches after a long day, ugh not fun. I swear a lot when stressed which is really a habit I should break myself of, especially in a position where I talk to clients on the phone and face to face a LOT, or one day I will slip, oops. Calling someone a 'fucking motherfucker' is probably not the best way to drum up business. :D
It's so strange how different a week feels when you're coming to the end of something. I've been working here in Leicester, in this first ever job, for over a year now, and all the weeks in that time were just - another week, yay weekend, oh another week. Now, when I'm moving out of this city to a new job in London at the start of August, it's like - I have THREE WEEKS left! Only three! Only three precious weekends here! Only three weeks of this structure that I've got so used over the past YEAR! Just one little week will THIRD the time I have left. So weird. :O Exciting, though; I've been wanting to get out of Leicester since I came back from London, and now I AM, and omgggg. OMG. London! A city I love! Actually thinking of ways for my life to move forward! A social life! Though I will feel better once I've got my housing sorted which I can't really do yet, and I am also really rather nervous about the job, it's going to be intense and quite a lot of pressure and stress. No bumming off reading fic in this job, at last not for a while, I think!
Anyway. Apparently I am rambly today! Fannishly I have been mainly finishing off my Corfu J2 today (nearly done!!) but I have cleaned out my tabs a bit, so have some recs!
J2In Production by
reccea - NC-17; LHDGLJH SO AWESOME!!! Ten years future!fic, and GOD I love future fic, and an AWESOME chunk set in Paris - I love fics set in other countries when the author obviously knows and loves it (or does really good research! ;)) and it is just FABULOUS. Awesome sense of place, awesome characterisations and the most DELICIOUS slow burn of J2. *___* Glorious.
The Last of the Romantics by
balefully - NC-17; speaking of fics set in other places! An AU of the film Sabrina which I have never seen, HA, but this is so awesome - romcom J2 AU! *_* and featuring a beautifully written love story of both Jared and Jensen, and Jared and LONDON, where he finds himself; such an awesome integral part of the fic, not that the J2 isn't fantastic too. Makes me fall in love with the city all over again. (three weeks til I'm back there homg WHAT.)
